Was it the long break that sunk the Ducks? No.No, but it stuck them in a pretty deep hole. Same sort of story as swpeeing Minnesota in '03.I think it has not only to do with the 9-10 days off, but also just the fact that the last 4 games you did play went remarkably easy.It ends up feeling like a month since you played 'playoff' hockey, and that's not good for momentum.

I think you also have to look at the Sabres/Canes series as both teams dstued off their opponents in five games, but the Sabres had an extra day rest. Don't know if that made much of a difference, but still.
